Well... I was bored and too lazy to pull out the acrylics so I figured I would finally post something on PSD Power since I never have. And I was going back through the posts and saw Jons post of dexter and remembered I had started a painting that I gave up on so I took the time and finished it off. Then I was trying to post it and actually read the blog and realized there was themes and that Dexter isn't a spaceman on an alien planet. Hopefully you guys will find it in your heart to forgive me.
so i decided to do some hellboy digi paintings. the one with color is still being worked on at the moment. i really don't know how much time i spent on either of these though, but i do know i've pumped in at least 2 hours on the colored one due to painting over it 2 or 3 times now.
i accidently took a photo of myself walking home at 6:30 am the other day and so i decided to use it for a self portrait. and so.. here it is. 30 minutes.
Hey guys, I have recently been looking up stuff from the artist Arnold Tsang. He is a sheridan graduate who went off and worked for Udon comics. He is an excellent digital painter and I was lucky enough to find a painting tutorial that he put together. Its not the greatest tutorial but I thought you guys might find it interesting. Tutorial
Also check out his deviant art gallery. Its got some damn good stuff in it. Gallery
Starting to experiment with Painter.. Feels so much like putting down paints with bursh oppose to painting with lines in photoshop. But there are so many brushes.. so many options. :D
Did this one tonight pretty quickly. I put it on my blog because its relevant to a project I am working on for fun. I will be developing this image further.
I am trying to do a decent portfolio piece, so instead of doing a few different quick paintings i will be doing the progress on this. Excited for the new theme though. I still enjoy quick painting.
Here is the progress:
So far about an hour has been put into the piece. I am going to be detailing it up and throwing in a man fleeing from some zombies . yay zombies.
Been doing alot of practicing with photoshop lately. Here is the beginnings of a portrait that I'm working on. I'm trying to play with brushes and brush textures because it seems to me that most of the really good photoshop painters utilize the brushes more then any other feature. Anyway, critiques would be awesome.
We'll use this post for discussing anything regarding the blog. Mainly Topic of the week. We'll take turns coming up with the topic and some possible rules.
